Buena Vista Social Club, Dome Concert Hall,Brighton, April 25
"Like all Cuban styles, Buena Vista's music is to be danced
to, so it is full of life, not a museum piece that
marks a bygone era."
So says promoter David Flower about the latest tour
by the band made famous by Wim Wenders' famous documentary following Ry Cooder as he attempted
to uncover Cuba's pre-Castro musical past.
This 13-strong incarnation of the Buena Vista Social Club features original members Guajiro Mirabal,
Jesus Rabos, Manuel Galban and Cachaito Lopez,
the bassist who has played on every single album
in the World Circuit series.
