These New Puritans, Freebutt, Brighton, Tuesday, Apr 29
Taking their name from a classic Fall track, These New Puritans are one of those bands casually thrown in with Foals as an example of the new cool art-rock indie on the UK scene.
Their debut album Beat Pyramid, on cult label Domino, has helped underline the Southend four-piece's cachet, as well as a killer appearance at last year's Great Escape Festival.
Based around twin brothers - Jack Barnett on vocals and guitar, with brother George on drums - they are also set apart by blonde, ice-maiden keyboard player, Sophie Sleigh-Johnson.
They've already supported the likes of Blood Red Shoes
and The Kills in Brighton, but this is a chance for them
to take the spotlight.
