Following a short run at their home base, the 30-strong Brighton Little Theatre company are re-staging their darker spin on The Bard’s spirited fairytale at Lewes Castle.
Re-imagined to show the text in a different light, this production mixes time periods, contrasts costumes and invites an altogether more sinister tone.
"We have made it darker," says director Harry Atkinson. "But what we haven’t done is lost the visual comedy of the play - this is a very physical production."
The doors will be opening at 6.30pm for audiences to set up blankets and rugs for picnics before the performance begins in the Gun Garden.
