The prolonged standing ovation at the end of the show underlined the stunning success of the performance of the students from The Rattonians Youth Group.
Several local youngsters showed they could be potential stars of the future, particularly Edward Layer as corrupt, money-grabbing innkeeper Thenardier.
Layer and Megan Mason, as his contemptuous wife, delivered the hilarious Master Of The House number magnificently.
Alex Adams, in the lead role of Jean Valjean, and Catherine Anderson, as desperate mother Fantine, were also outstanding.
