Area: Uckfield - Heathfield - Hailsham

Hadlow Down circular Hadlow Down circular
Starting high on a Wealden ridge at Hadlow Down, this walk heads north before dropping down into and along the valley of the River Uck. En route it visits two areas which are open to the public but not marked as such on the Explorer Map, a licensed woodland path after point 2 and, between points 4 and 5, a walk through an area of woodland and pasture where environmentally sensitive management is encouraging the growth and protection of wild flowers.

Newick Circular Newick circular
This pleasant and varied walk from Newick encircles the village to the south and west. It follows an interesting route, passing through several areas of mature woodland, including one managed by the Woodland Trust where you can wander freely.

Uckfield and Maresfield Uckfield and Maresfield
The area to the west and north of Uckfield, bisected by trunk roads, including the town bypass, does not look very promising for walkers.

Weald Way and Vanguard Way Weald Way and Vanguard Way
