Contribution to Sussex sport

Life

For our second award we want to hear from any sport fans telling us why their sporting hero should receive the Contribution to Sussex Sport award.

This award recognizes both outstanding sporting achievement such as Albion romping to promotion to the Championship or unsung local heroes such as Julie Drake, from Brighton, who is a long-serving volunteer at Arena 80 Athletics Club and Patcham United Football Club.

This year more than ever we need you the readers to tell us who you think should win.

Last October Lewes FC chairman Steve Ibbitson picked up the award for his incredible job on and off the pitch working to save the club from relegation and the bailiffs.

We want to hear as much detail about your nominations as possible so feel free to send as much information on each nominee as you can think of.

We would like to thank Life Water for kindly sponsoring this year's award.

Award winners will be announced at a glitzy awards night held at Theatre Royal Brighton hosted by newsreader Nicholas Owen in October.

You can nominate as many people as you like for as many different awards as you like online.

Nominations must be received by The Argus by August 29.

Nominations received so far include: Hugh Vivian Foord, Julie Drake, Cy Pollard, Henry Ledden and Dave Amiet.
