Tim Hutchings

The 2010 Outstanding Contribution to Sussex Award was given to Tim Hutchings for his incredible work in bringing the Brighton Marathon to the city.

Members of the Marathon team collected the trophy on Tim’s behalf at lasy year's ceremony as he was competing in a marathon in Chicago.

The work of Tim and his dedicated team was also recognised when Brighton Marathon was awarded the Community Event of the Year Award.

Brighton Marathon logistics director, Tom Naylor, 31, said: “Tim was the driving force. It was his idea and it was up to him to convince everyone that the marathon was a viable, going concern.

“It was his passion, energy and enthusiasm and unwillingness to give in, which made the marathon a huge success.”
