Teacher of the year

Outstanding teachers inspire, encourage and motivate. They change children’s lives.  Yet how often do we get the chance to say a proper and public thank you?  Is your teacher the coolest, most understanding or interesting mentor?  Does he or she go that little bit further to make school the best place in the world?

This year more than ever we need you the readers to tell us who you think should win.

We want to hear as much detail about your nominations as possible so feel free to send as much information on each nominee as you can think of.

Award winners will be announced at a glitzy awards night held at Theatre Royal Brighton hosted by newsreader Nicholas Owen in October.

You can nominate as many people as you like for as many different awards as you like online.

Nominations must be received by The Argus by August 29.

Nomaination received so far this year: Mark Brady, TA at Varndean School, Michelle Connolly, Dave Stubbs, Benjamin Barnicoat, Brian Lawrence, Bobby Aspey, Richard Baker, Alison Hadfield, Coralie Watson, Andy Benn and Siou Hannam.
