Introduced by popular demand by readers of The Argus in 2009, it seems we have many volunteers in our county who need a big and public thank you/
This award will recognize and celebrate these true unsung heroes that make our community a better place to be. You may know a volunteer who visits elderly neighbours regularly, helps at your school or youth group or those supporting charities or other community services on a voluntary basis.
We want to hear as much detail about your nominations as possible so feel free to send as much information on each nominee as you can think of.
Award winners will be announced at a glitzy awards night held at Theatre Royal Brighton hosted by newsreader Nicholas Owen in October.
You can nominate as many people as you like for as many different awards as you like online.
Nominations must be received by The Argus by August 29.
Nominations received so far include: Adrian Longhurst, Doreen Upwood, Debbie Sharpless, Joya Freestone, Paula Woolven, Michael O'Keefe, John Sclanders, Sue Shepherd, Luke Southby, Bidge Garton, Gary Pargeter, Sheymron Edwards, Richard Nobbs, Ann Rose, Chris Cooke, Derek Hinton and Tom Dowds.
