On Saturday, December 9, I was driving along Broadwater High Street when my car overheated and broke down just outside the NatWest bank in the middle of the road.

In no time at all a very nice man who owns the sweet shop in Broadwater came out and helped me fill it up with water and, because it was so cold, invited me into the shop and offered me a cup of tea while the car cooled down.

I want to say a thank you to this man. I never caught his name but his small act of kindness really lifted my spirits.

So thanks from the owner of that red Fiat Stilo, still not on the road!
