The article “Beach made accessible to everyone” (The Argus, March 4) is not strictly true. While Brighton and Hove City Council has purchased two “all-terrain buggies”, these will only make the beach accessible to disabled people who can transfer independently.
I attended the meeting, where we tried these wheelchairs, and there was talk of providing a hoist for those who are unable to transfer. Until then, the beach remains inaccessible to many disabled people.
