As a driver of 30 years’ experience I understand that double yellow lines mean no parking, as to do so would endanger someone else or at best cause an obstruction to other road users.
I also understand that drivers should not park within 15ft or 3m of a corner, and that people who are not blue badge holders are not allowed to park in disabled drivers parking bays.
So why is it Brighton and Hove City Council can flout these laws to suit themselves, by planting large black bins on the corners of junctions, in disabled bays and covering road safety markings?

Rottingdean disabled parking spaces are usually full of parents dropping off kids or people either going to the shops or to the sorting office.
Brighton Tyres & Exhaust on Richmond Parade regularly park their customers cars on the corner, completely blocking access to the pavement. Mind you, they also park cars all over the pavement too.
Drivers don't give a toss about pedestrian's access to pavements & they should be forced to. It's a nightmare even if you're not in a wheelchair, have a walking aid or have a buggy.
