Well said Mr Mullins on the charity shop prices (Letters, March 17). I visited one such shop this afternoon and found a set of four mugs at £3.99. Before Woolworths closed, I had bought my husband an identical mug for £1.

Mainstream charity shops are exploiting indiscriminately the voluntary sector. Next time, give your unwanted goods to charities that give it for free to the needy, like the Brighton Unemployed Centre Family Proyect at 6 Tilbury Place, Brighton, etc.
