Men at work

So traffic wardens are to clamp down on builders (The Argus, February 19).

If we can not park near a job, how are we supposed to get tools and materials to the job?

As a builder I feel sorry for people in the centre of town.

I will not work in North Laine or the city centre – it’s just not worth the hassle.

I include parking charges in my quote if working in chargeable parking areas unless clients have visitor vouchers.....most are very understanding about it, i cannot get a parking waiver as i carry all my tools and equipment in a car!

The answer is to provide all trades people with parking permits for a nominal fee, say £10, on production of evidence such as bank statements and yearly accounts. Simple really but unfortunately the people that run the parking in this city are also a bit simple !

security word : hope-cash ( how ironic !!! )
