The military research centre at Porton Down should stop explosive tests on live pigs.
Not only are they barbaric, but the test results cannot be applied to humans due to the anatomical and physiological differences between the species.
Pigs have smaller torsos and limbs and thicker skin than us. The anatomy of the head and neck, internal organs, rib cage, blood vessels, and airway are also not like ours. Non-animal tests would also be cheaper and more effective. Mannikins and simulators, computer software, interactive videodiscs and human cadavers can be used in training programs and offer significant educational advantages.
