Animal gases

The Worldwatch Institute says that meat and diary production accounts for half of total human-made greenhouse gas emissions.

Animals’ digestive processes and slurry release methane, which is 23 times more potent than carbon dioxide.

Huge areas of the Amazon rainforest are cut down to create cattle grazing land and land to grow animal feed crops. Animal manure decomposition and fertilisers for the vast amounts of animal feed crops create nitrous oxide gas, which is a 296 times more potent than carbon dioxide.

A lot of hot air...

No, I know what he's on about. We should all eat less meat as the production of meat isn't good for the planet & too much isn't good for humans either. If it means you can keep your car & fly on holiday, would you go meat-free one day a week?

Personally, I think the horse-racing industry contributes a massive amount to climate change & it should be scaled down if not stopped altogether. We could always eat the spare horses.

Is it really that time of month again already ? Yet another "Cut and Paste" letter from the same person. Come on Argus - by all means let the nutters get a letter in once but stop printing the same letter time and time again.
