I read the letter from Tony Mernagh, executive director of the Brighton and Hove Economic Partnership, regarding Brighton’s placing in the seaside destination league (Letters, June 23).
I was disappointed Mr Mernagh did not mention the excellent bus services provided by Brighton and Hove Bus Company to keep the city on the move.
If Brighton and Hove City Council wants top billing, Brighton must become more family-orientated, especially as middle-class families will feel the pinch of the recent budget and will not have so much income to waste on air fares and will have holidays in the UK.
The council should discourage the sexy, sleazy activities of stag and hen parties. Surely folk can enjoy themselves without having to get drunk.
The Naked Bike Ride should never ever be allowed to happen again.
The streets should be made more safe for families to stroll around.
I remember when Brighton had policemen, during the summertime, in uniform with white helmet and shirt sleeves and they were a joy to behold.
Nature has been very kind to Brighton, and we should show our appreciation by keeping the city clean and bright.
