Not sporting

I am writing in response to your article “Do we need to cull our urban foxes?” (The Argus, July 12). No, we do not. They are self-regulating.

So where does Mr Carter get his evidence from that their numbers have risen since the hunting ban?

Even if hunting was still legal, it would not have prevented the recent fox attacks. As dreadful as these were, these incidents are very rare.

And foxes themselves have been the victims of terrible attacks in the name of “sport”. The hunting ban was implemented to stop them having such horrible deaths.

I personally love seeing foxes in my neighbourhood and have never had any problem with them. They are shy, beautiful and are never obtrusive.

Obviously any detrimental comment here is going to incur the wrath of the Fox lovers, who are also the Badger and Squirrel lovers... The same as any comment demanding the cull and extermination of these disgusting pests and vermin will incur the support of every sane individual who reads this... So I, for one, will not comment....
