As a driver of 30 years’ experience I understand that double yellow lines mean no parking, as to do so would endanger someone else or at best cause an obstruction to other road users.

With reference to the deliveries at the new Sainsburys and Tesco stores (The Argus, March 13): This situation has been going on for a while, in addition to the ludicrous parking along the whole of Western Road, most notably opposite The Providence pub by the taxis and by the post office.

The proposed development plans for the Saltdean Lido site (The Argus, March 12), presented by Dennis Audley, are of great concern to Saltdean residents.

I think it was a surprise for Mr Audley just how many residents came to see his proposed plans for the redevelopment of the lido. He must now realise the great affection the people of Saltdean have for the lido.
