Vital questions

I am appalled that you have given front page coverage to the man who stabbed his dog to death which seems to have allowed him to endeavor to justify his barbaric actions (The Argus, October 8).

It seems to me that you forgot to ask him some vital questions.

Why was he carrying a knife capable of stabbing something to death?

Why if, as he suggests, this dog ravaged his daughter in the way he describes, could the police find no reports of the girl or anyone having been treated at hospital - as was reported at the time of the original article?

Why did he not get the dog away and take it to be destroyed humanely, if that was required, rather than butchering it in full sight of anyone who happened to be passing by?

Why did he leave the dead animal in the park to be found by anyone?

Wild Park is a family park. Can you imagine how frightening it would be for a young child to have witnessed the attack or have found the body?
