Patcham lads

2:22pm Wednesday 30th April 2008

Here is another of those school football team pictures which were so popular in the 1950s and which bring back a host of memories now.

This one, sent in by Doug Brownjohn who is third left in the top row, shows a champion team put forward by Patcham Senior School in Warmdene Road, Brighton, during the 1953/54 season.

He says: "We had a great team in the early-1950s put together by Mr Penfold (top row, left) assisted by Mr Ingham (top row, right)."

The surnames of the boys are: Back row left to right - Betts, Brownjohn, Lewis, Devison, and Kruger.

Front row: Tulley, Bennett, Harris, Woodford, Campbell and Richardson.
