Hazard response teams rushed to an industrial estate after people reported having trouble breathing.

Ambulance and fire crews with breathing apparatus headed to Chichester Food Park off the A259 in response to the incident where people required treatment at the scene.

South East Coast Ambulance Service’s hazardous area response team were also called to the scene at around 5pm on Tuesday, April 18, although no one at the scene required any hospital treatment.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “Secamb was called to reports of a number of people suffering from breathing difficulties at a Chichester Food Park at approximately 5.10pm yesterday.

“Ambulance crews attended assessed and treated people at the scene. No one required further hospital treatment.”

Fire engines were also called to the scene with five pumps attending the scene.

Personnel supported ambulance crews before leaving the scene at around 7pm.

It is currently unclear what the nature of the incident in Bognor Road, Chichester was.
