Elisabeth Terland says she has grown as a player and a person in her prize-winning season.

Albion’s top-scorer was named player of the year for the 2023-24 campaign as well as taking second and third places in the goal of the season poll.

Terland, 22, has scored 15 goals in 27 games this term.

Asked whether there were aspects in which she had improved apart from the goal stats, the Norway international said: “I think I have developed in a lot in different places.

“Especially as a human being, I have grown a lot. I’m still young so I think I have become much more mature in my head, which is a really important part of football.

“But then, of course, as a striker you need to score goals and that’s my job.

“To be able to score different goals.

“Usually I haven’t been that good with my head and that is something I have developed and scored a lot of goals this season.

“It is just continuing to do that.”

Terland is enjoying the style of football introduced by interim boss Mikey Harris in line with how the senior and under-21 men play.

She said: “It’s very different. It’s hard to describe how different it is.

“He has another way of playing football and we want to have the ball a lot.

“It’s very clear what we want to do and everyone has really bought into his way of playing football, which makes us believe in what we are doing.

“Of course it is still early. We need to learn it and progress it and develop in it.

“But it’s a really fun way to play football and I enjoy it.”

Terland’s individual highlights include late winners at Leicester and at home to Bristol City.

Asked for a highlight of the season, she said: “It is hard to pick one moment but the wins are always something to take.

“Especially the ones that are a bit late, which feels a bit better.”

Veatriki Sarri’s long-range stunner versus Aston Villa won the goal of the season award.

Goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley was named players’ player of the year.
