Beauty Queen Louise Maggs swapped her ball gown for a car boot sale over the bank holiday weekend to support a charity.
The 25-year-old, from West Chiltington, near Storrington, spent a morning at the sale at Rusper, near Horsham.
She managed to raise more than £160 for Horsham-based international wildlife charity, The Born Free Foundation.
Ms Maggs will represent West Sussex at the 2014 Miss Earth finals, which will be held in Birmingham on September 21.
Now in its fourteenth, year, the contest is unique in the pageant world, as entrants need to be actively involved in promoting environmental awareness to enter.
Ms Maggs said: “I chose to support the Born Free Foundation because I have a real passion for animals.
“I studied for a Bsc in animal management and have my own local dog walking and pet care business locally.
“I was keen to support an animal welfare charity which is local to West Sussex and Born Free is exactly that.”
