CHILDREN were invited to join Santa in his toy factory at South Downs Nurseries for its official opening.

More than 50 youngsters from Hassocks Happy Feet Nursery and Pre-school attended the event and met Father Christmas, who is hoping to raise more £10,000 for his charity this year, The Budding Foundation.

All funds raised will be spent helping local young people in need.

Clive Gravett, who runs the charity said: “Santa’s toy factory, complete with animated elves, has been designed, created and funded by the Tate family who own South Downs Nurseries.

“They have even donated all the gifts that Santa will give to each child, meaning that all the proceeds from ticket sales will go straight to charity.

“We have set ourselves an ambitious target of £10,000 but have already raised over £2,500 with the amazing support we have had from our visitors so far.”

Santa’s toy factory is open at South Downs Nurseries in Brighton Road, Hassocks, every weekend until December 24.

Tickets are £5 per child and accompanying adults are free.

No booking is needed.
