THE BRIGHTON & HOVE (PRIDE FESTIVAL WEEKEND) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019
The Pride Festival Weekend is taking place in Brighton and Hove. To facilitate its safe passage parts of the route will need to be closed to traffic and therefore Brighton & Hove City Council have made an Order under Sections 16A to C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which temporarily brings into operation the following package of traffic.
No person shall cause or permit any vehicle that is not participating in, or connected with the Pride Festival Weekend to proceed in, exit from, or turn into any of the lengths of road specified below, except upon the direction or with the permission of a Police Constable in uniform or that of a uniformed marshal:-
1a. Road Closures - 1 August 2019 - 20:00 to 5 August 2019 - 03:00 for the following road:
Preston Road - Stanford Avenue to South Road
1b. Road Closures - 2 August 2019 - 21:00 to 5 August 2019 06:00 for the following road:
Marine Parade - Aquarium Roundabout to Lower Rock Gardens
1c. Road Closures - 2 August 2019 - 21:00 to 5 August 2019 02:00 for the following road:
St James's Street - Old Steine to New Steine
2a. Road Closures - 3 August 2019 - 09:00 - 16:00 for the following roads:
Montpelier Road - Western Road to Kings Road
Russell Road - West Street to Russell Place
Boyce's Street
South Street
North Street - East Street to Queens Road - Westbound
New England Road - New England Street to Preston Circus
St Peter's Place - Westbound

4. Temporary closure for provision of taxi ranks for pick-up of Pride festival goers - 4 August 2019 - 22:00 - 23:59 for the following roads:
Stanford Avenue- junction of Preston Park Avenue to junction of Beaconsfield Villas
Preston Drove - from start of cycle lane at west end of Preston Drove, eastwards to the start of the parking bays.
5. During the event, under direction of event officials, these measures may be lifted to enable vehicular access.
6. This order may be cited as The Brighton & Hove (Pride Festival Weekend) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2019 and will only be closed under the terms of this order for above dates and times.
