A CHILDREN's football team has received funds for new training and away kits from a housebuilder.

Barratt Homes, a residential property development company, has donated £1,000 to the Wick Dynamos Football Club who play at the Arun Sports Arena in Rollaston Park, Ford, Arundel as part of its sponsorship of the team.

The housebuilder has renewed its sponsorship of the under-sevens and under-13 teams for the second consecutive year.

The donation will go towards improving the team's training and away kits. This improvement will help the teams prepare better for the start of next season.

Gary Orange, head coach for the Under-13s at Wick Dynamos, said: "The sponsorship from Barratt has allowed us to provide training and away games kit for our under-sevens and under-13 teams.

"We are excited to continue this partnership for the next year, where we can hopefully host more events, and we thank Barratt Homes for its support during this difficult period."

The community-run Wick Dynamos FC includes a number of teams, including mixed teams with boys and girls playing alongside each other. There is also a specialised disability team. The club's philosophy is "inclusive, not exclusive".

Lynnette St-Quintin, sales and marketing director for Barratt Southern Counties, said: "We are pleased to continue our partnership with Wick Dynamos Football Club.

"Our donation towards the club's kit was a small contribution which we hope will help the team continue with their sporting success.

"The club is an integral part of the community, supporting a large swathe of the children in the local area, and we are proud to continue to be involved."
