RUM brand Kraken has teamed up with a marine conservation charity to create a "protest" ice cream.

Kraken and the Padi Aware charity are hoping to raise awareness about the impact of litter on UK beaches in Brighton this bank holiday.

The "ice clean" campaign will see free ice creams given away at The Tempest in Kings Road Arches from 1pm to 5pm on Monday August 30.

Each of the distinctive black ice creams will have 3D-printed edible toppings representing the top polluters in the ocean.

From include everything from plastic bags, milk cartons and drinks cans to plastic ring pulls, plastic bottles and single-use cutlery.

Kraken will be bringing its ice cream all over the country and customers are asked for a £1 donation to Padi Aware.

The donations will go towards the charity's mission to reduce ocean debris by half within the next decade.

The charity reported a 36 per cent drop in the amount of ocean waste it was able to collect throughout lockdown.

This works out as the same weight of three-and-a-half killer whales.

Kraken’s Ice Clean is also travelling to Manchester, Leeds, London and Glasgow throughout August.
