A COMPANY used to supplying specialist agricultural and construction plant to other businesses has seen the diggers move in on its own site for a change.

Last month, the first ground was broken for new premises for Lloyd Ltd at Bishop Auckland.

After delays due to bad weather and planning amendments, work is now underway and should be complete by March 2020.

Contractors Arrowbuild & Civil Engineering Ltd, from Stockton, were thrilled to be chosen to do the build.

Managing director Owen Hutchinson said: “It’s great to get the project underway, particularly now the weather seems to be improving, which always makes the job easier. This is an extensive project and the final building will look impressive so we are proud to be part of this development.”

Dealer principal Alistair Whitby said: “Lloyd Ltd moved into the current building in 2000, but it has dated quickly and the business has outgrown it as we have continued to expand our franchises and staff. Now is the perfect time to be making this significant investment in the new premises and the fact that we can continue in the current building while the work goes on means we can carry on without disruption until we are ready to move into the completed building. These are exciting times for our branch and we are all looking forward to watching the work progress.”
