BRIGHTON and Hove Albion are searching for community heroes in celebration of ten years at the American Express Community Stadium.

Albion, in partnership with American Express, are searching for ten community heroes, who will be honoured at the stadium.

The public is encouraged to put forward anybody they feel has made a significant contributed to communities in Sussex over the past decade.

Nominations are now open and will remain open until September 19.

The ten chosen community heroes will have their names honoured on a seat in the Amex Lounge at the stadium.

The community heroes will be chosen by a panel of judges with representatives from The Albion, American Express and More Radio.

Whether it’s a local teacher who has gone above and beyond to help students or a neighbour who voluntarily delivered food to the vulnerable, those nominated must have made a contribution to the local community and currently reside in Sussex.

Beverly Sawyers, vice president at American Express, shared her excitement about the scheme.

“The vision was that the Amex would be a venue designed for the use and enjoyment of football fans and the wider Sussex community, which is why the stadium was named the American Express Community Stadium,” she said.

“Alongside Brighton and Hove Albion and Albion In The Community, we’re delighted to serve the local Sussex community by honouring these deserving individuals within the stadium as a fitting tribute for their incredible community work.”

In addition to having their name honoured on a seat within the stadium, each community hero will also receive two VIP hospitality tickets to watch Brighton and Hove Albion vs Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday, November 6.

Since becoming the official stadium partner of the Albion in 2011, American Express has provided support for Albion in the Community - the charitable arm of Brighton and Hove Albion.

The charity supports the Sussex community in areas of education, sports, disability, social inclusion and health and with a significant colleague volunteer programme.
