JUST over £2.5m worth of property values were achieved by auction house Parsons Son & Basley during their September Sale, this in stark contrast to all the negativity currently surrounding the economy. Once again location proved key with a vacant iconic building in Gloucester Road, Brighton selling for £625,000 whilst over in Tunbridge Wells, a mixed residential/commercial investment sold for £525,000, both to the absolute delight of the sellers. Amongst some of the other properties sold included a three bedroom house in Portslade selling for comfortably in excess of its reserve amount whilst over in Middleton, a mixed investment sold for £45,000 more than the reserve and just along the road in Bognor Regis, a former residential learning centre sold for £360,000.

Auctioneer Simon Caplin said: “Along with our many, many satisfied clients, we were absolutely delighted to be able to have raised £500 for the Rockinghorse Children’s Charity and again, I would personally like to thank ASC Finance for Business who kindly donated the charity auction lot that allowed for such a wonderful amount to be raised. We will be continuing to support local charities during each of our forthcoming auctions and can only thank those in attendance who, during the course of this year, have bid so generously.”

Parsons Son & Basley’s next auction will be in November, their 999th since their inception in 1825.
