A NEW homes development opened its doors to homebuyers in Haywards Heath last weekend. Housebuilders Barratt and David Wilson Homes officially launched the Wychwood Park development, located along Rocky Lane, which will bring a stylish range of new homes to the local market; including two, three and four-bedroom family houses, as well as one and two-bedroom apartments.

Demonstrating a strong demand for new homes locally, over 100 potential homebuyers attended the launch weekend, looking to find out more about buying one of the contemporary properties. Prospective buyers were able to view plans for the Wychwood Park, explore pricing and learn more about the availability of schemes such as Help to Buy and Part-Exchange.

The initial phase will see 152 homes from Barratt Southern Counties and 168 homes delivered by David Wilson Southern Counties; comprising of one and two bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom homes, with several properties even reserved at the weekend. Each contemporary new home is equipped with the latest energy efficiency techniques. The first residents at the development are expected to move into their new homes in summer 2019.

Lynnette St-Quintin, sales and marketing director for Barratt Southern Counties, said: “We are delighted to launch Wychwood Park, which will bring much needed new housing to the local area. The turnout at the launch weekend demonstrates that there is a big appetite locally for quality new homes.

“We expect the new homes here to continue to be very popular with buyers looking for a quality home in a sought after area close to the countryside. Also, with the availability of Help to Buy, together with David Wilson Homes, we expect the homes here to be very popular with first time buyers looking for a bigger first step onto the housing ladder.”

Help to Buy, the Government’s popular equity loan scheme, helps both first time buyers and house movers purchase a new home with lower upfront costs. The helpful scheme means that buyers only need to raise a five per cent deposit, while the Government steps in with an interest-free (for the first five years) loan of a further 20 per cent of the property value. In this way, buyers are able to access more affordable 75 per cent loan-to-value mortgages. The scheme is available with new homes worth up to the value of £600,000, meaning that many of the properties at Wychwood Park will qualify.

Lynnette said: “Help to Buy is a fantastic scheme to help buyers move into a new home for less upfront cost. It has been very popular at many of our developments throughout Hampshire, especially with young families looking for more space.”

Wychwood Park has been commended the ‘Built for Life’ industry award. This quality mark is recognition for well-designed new homes, neighbourhoods and communities, and checks design elements including access to local facilities, parking, landscaping and traffic management.

The development is conveniently located less than two miles from the high street, which offers a variety of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There is also a Sainsburys nearby, a doctor’s surgery and dental practices.

Ideal for commuters, Haywards Heath Railway Station is just over two miles from Wychwood Park and offers direct services to London Bridge and London Victoria in as little as 41 minutes during peak times. For travel by road, the A23 can easily be reached via the A272, connecting residents to the M23 and M25. Gatwick Airport is also just a 25 minute drive away for international travel.

Currently available at Wychwood Park is a collection of three and four bedroom homes with prices starting from £354,995
