SINCE his emergence on to the music scene in 1999, Craig David has been a frontrunner of British RnB.

Now the singer has announced a fresh set of UK tour dates, with a show in Brighton part of the run.

Craig will perform at the Brighton Centre on Wednesday, April 22.

Tickets go on sale on Friday.

The Southampton-born singer first caught the public eye when he appeared in Re-Rewind by the garage duo Artful Dodger.

He went on to release his debut album, Born To Do It, in 2000 and it charted at number one in the UK.

The singer has 20 Top 40 singles to his name and is best known for hits such as 7 Days and Fill Me In.

Since his debut record, Craig has released a further six studio albums, the latest of which was last year’s The Time Is Now.

It went to number two in the charts and reaffirmed Craig’s status as one of the most popular figures in RnB.

During his career Craig has been nominated for 14 Brit Awards but despite his chart success is yet to win one.

With more than 15 million albums sold worldwide it is a testament to Craig’s longevity that he has remained prominent in British music for 20 years.

His spring tour will kick off on April 13 in Cardiff and he will visit Bournemouth, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Brighton and Nottingham before ending on April 25 with a big show at London’s O2 Arena.
