Pam Ann – the alter ego of gutsy Australian comedienne Caroline Reid – audaciously landed for a brief stop-off at the Theatre Royal. She tears into some of the most famous airlines and their crew with some hilarious insights – as she exclaimed of herself, “I have no shame!”

The crowd was largely made up of these airlines and all enjoyed laughing at each other as much as themselves. Known for her lack of tolerance towards any mobile phone interference during her shows (too right too, why do people do that?), she did lay in to someone who snapped her with flash – not something they’ll repeat in a hurry.

The sets were interspersed with film parodies, which added a refreshingly different dimension. An Easyjet trainee and the BA “35 years in” hostess were played off against each other well.

However, after about an hour, the jokes wore a bit thin and it started to feel rather dated. I’m not sure I’ll be flying Pam Ann airlines again but with it’s large population of cabin crew and her cult following, Brighton makes a dream destination for this show.
