Pop-punk band Don Broco demonstrated why festival warm-up shows are always a mixed bag.

After their last Brighton appearance was a sell-out at Concorde 2 this show at The Haunt was a chance for their fan base to see them at a smaller venue.

But the band hadn't played in four months and they seemed rusty.

Not that it bothered the audience. Don Broco's first two songs Yeah Man and Thug Workout had the pogoing crowd eating out of their hands. Even new unreleased song Money Power Fame got a reaction which would have made an onlooker presume it was a classic.

The band's set prominently focused on their latest album, Priorities, and they got through it in break-neck speed leaving the stage after a mere 40 minutes.

They sheepishly returned and explained that due to their guitars being tuned for that set, they had no other songs left to play. They gave the new song another run through – much to the annoyance of some fans – and departed swiftly.

A short but not so sweet set which felt very much like a warm-up for Reading and Leeds, not the finished article.
