One thing which became instantly apparent was American hardcore punk super group OFF! are not like many other bands that get tarnished with the same description.
Formed of past members of such underground luminaries as Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Burning Brides and Red Kross there was the underlying feeling that as soon as the members stepped onstage any ego was left far behind.
United from the off, frontman Keith Morris began proceedings by regaling a dark comedy-laced story regarding a CEO at a multinational company which at its culmination saw the four passionately launch themselves into the set.
They punched, pushed and pulled their way through a firmly stacked selection of fast-paced and highly energetic punk-spirited explosions of noise, aggression and belligerent hardcore.
The audience was enthusiastically coaxed to form a strongly bonded sea of bodies firmly synced in motion and mind.
When the end came the perspiration-laced faces clearly wished the night could last much longer as Morris fist-bumped those sweat-laden bodies on the front row which had spent the last hour caught up in a chaotic mosh pit.
