Martha Tilston is not to be found on Spotify.
However, her disconnection from the commercial world did not stop 300 people from braving the elements for an intimate 90 minute set with her 4 piece band The Scientists.
She did play The Mermaid Of Zennor from The Sea, her recently released album featuring traditional songs about the sea, but this wasn't a show out to hard-sell.
Tilston doesn't hard-sell her politics either. It was there in songs such as More and Artificial which the crowd whooped up, but there were also the earthy songs such as Staggs Bellow and the lyrical Winter Flowers.
Despite her regular swigging of a Bach Remedy Tilston's voice carried powerfully.
The band supported the vocal, there were surprisingly few opportunities for the fiddle or guitar to feature, it was the vocal that carried the show.
Although she encored with the life affirming Good World, Tilston's performance felt underpinned by a darker prescence.
When the audience sang along it was always to leave a sad, wistful impression.
Tilston's vocal was occasionally enhanced by Brighton resident Cate Ferris, who also performed her own 30 minute set to start the evening and left everyone wanting more.
