Two polar bears go on an Arctic climbing adventure - skiing, rowing, and stopping for tea before eventually reaching the mountain summit.
This expressive show for young children was created and performed by Eilidh MacAskill and Fiona Manson.
Clad in white furry costumes and sporting ruck sacks and maps, these surreal polar explorers communicated through gestures and movement in this wordless mime.
Sound effects included howling winds, running water, cows mooing and rain.
Variety was added by the use of two small polar bear models on sticks to ascend to the mountain top where they hung balloons, and silver foil which, having been used to create mountain peaks, was then pulled across a delighted audience’s heads.
However, the subtlety and serenity of this hour-long performance was sometimes lost on such a young audience aged two-plus.
The biggest laughs occurred when during a picnic stop, Big Polar Bear made loud slurping sounds and then the pair took food off each other’s plates then tried to retrieve it.
More of these moments were needed.
