There is no shortage of creativity (or the unexpected) in this Purple Teapot Company production.
An array of characters, both human, performed by Jonathan Pyle, or puppet, controlled by Kerry Emerson, make up the mayhem.
However, this kids’ show, of seemingly semi-organised chaos, has the adults more on their toes than their offspring.
Three dads were plucked from the audience to perform with puppets in ‘Spanish’ show My Petos Has Got Talentos, as Pyle played the moustached, accented host.
Others were made to put on rabbit and Scooby Doo costumes but no children were invited on to the stage.
Even so, little ones delighted in some of the ‘yucky material’ such as when a penguin puppet, spewed yoghurt in to Pyle’s face as he opened a fridge singing “He’s eaten all my yoghurt. I don’t know what to do. He’s eaten all my Petit Filous”.
Pyle, clearly a dab hand at role play, soon became another character, Australian illusionist Wayne Bruce, to pull a hat out of a rabbit, with the assistance of a mum from the audience. But, some young onlookers seemed a bit bewildered and restless.
Although very imaginative, the humour was somewhat surreal with puns that sometimes went over the kids’ heads and seemed more aimed at adults.
