Loud, proud and full of swagger, the Ladyboys of Bangkok are back in Brighton.

The new show is called Beauty And The Beats, and is a full two hours of sequinned synchronicity.

With a cast of troupe of dazzling ladyboys, a few beaming break-dancing men, a fiercely camp drag queen and a little person who is repeatedly chased around the stage, this is never going to be politically correct, but such concerns didn’t hold back a raucous audience.

The fast-paced music, lights and well-rehearsed dance moves make the show a polished one, and the heavy drinking and whooping from the crowd give the tent the feeling of an old-fashioned summertime holiday camp.

Flitting between sultry routines to modern pop songs to old favourites such as tunes from The Sound Of Music and Grease, and comedy pieces about Viagra and Coronation Street, the show offers variety and slick, perma-grinning professionalism.

The celebrations ended with an upbeat remix of the lead song from Disney’s Frozen, complete with glittering headdresses and fake snow fluttering from the ceiling.

With arms waving and feet stamping, the crowd obeyed the command given to them, and really let go.
