Full of festive frivolity, this year’s panto was better than ever.

All four main characters, Jack, Jill, Dame Trott and Gobblegore were delightfully different from each other and excelled in their own domain.

Last year’s Muddles, Tom Beard was back as the giant’s evil henchman Gobblegore. Superb in a duet with Spencer Owen, We’re The Very Best At Being Bad, he was a natural at bringing on the boos.

Gentle Jack Trott (Gareth Arthurs) was complemented by his hilarious, saucy bearded mother Dame Trott, (Andy Power-Tate). Together they performed some impressive feats, such as a long tongue-twister about a kleptomaniac from Clacton.

From English Country Garden to 'Cow’ Wash, there were a good variety of songs and dancing, which included Shoreham children performing.

The strong script from LP Creatives, involved plenty of silly gags to keep the adults entertained, especially from Dame Trott.

Typically, she picked out men from the audience then tried out the mic with: “Icicles, popcicles, test-ing 1-2-3”.

Lorren Winwood was charming as Jill, Jack’s beautiful love interest, who needed to be rescued from the giant’s lair.

From the goose that laid the golden egg to a talking Daisy the cow, nothing was left out, even Santa made an appearance.

There were plenty of giggles from children and adults alike.
