This party-style tribute concert immediately had the audience on their feet in their best platform shoes and releasing their inner Dancing Queen.
ABBA fans were in their element as the enthusiastic ensemble of doppelgangers, Agnetha, Anni-Frid, Benny and Bjorn, paid homage to the music of the Swedish pop supergroup.
The feel-good atmosphere never wavered as hit followed hit, including Mamma Mia, Ring Ring, Gimme Gimme Gimme, Thank You For The Music, Money Money Money, Fernando and Take A Chance On Me. All served as a pleasant reminder of the band’s outstanding back catalogue.
Renditions were faithful and vocals were uncannily similar, with beautiful harmonies and the live band adding some oomph. The costumes were iconic ABBA, sparkling and flowing through the simple but perfectly in sync choreography.
I Had A Dream was a highlight, as the cast were joined on stage by the talented St Nicolas Primary School's choir. Also, Waterloo; still an upbeat crowd pleaser 42 years after ABBA won Eurovision with it and made pop history at the Brighton Dome.
The audience appeared elated throughout, singing and dancing along with smiles on their faces.
An unapologetically fun night of high-camp disco.
