You can't chuck a dart these days without hitting a reformed Britpop band in the collective backside.
We've had Pulp, Blur and Suede, while even the likes of Lush have chosen to dabble again in the murky reunion waters still being trodden by Kula Shaker, Dodgy and even Space.
There are enough notable exceptions to prevent a shout of 'full house', but The Bluetones - who only disbanded five years ago - have decided they want a piece of the action as well.
And who could blame them? A sold out at Concorde 2 proved there are more than enough people who wanted to roll back the years and reminisce.
Frontman Mark Morriss wasn’t overt to playing the part either, taking every opportunity to ham up his band’s former hits, as well as their misses.
The opening strum of Slight Return inspired a roomful of dewy eyes while, Cut Some Rug, Carnt Be Trusted, Solomon Bites The Worm and The Fountainhead were perfect pop melodies in the way The Smiths were pop.
How long it is before this nostalgic bubble bursts isn’t clear, but hopefully it’ll last long enough to allow The Bluetones more than one last victory lap.
