Audience members rave from their theatre seats to UK garage tracks as they are taken on a journey back to 2001 during With a Little Bit of Luck, presented by Paines Plough.
The Talented Seroca Davis narrates the show and plays a character called Nadia, a 19-year-old London girl with a passion for garage music and ambition to go far in life, and also voices some of the characters that were influential to Nadia’s life at the time.
The narrative of Nadia’s life in the summer of 2001 is accompanied by music from Martyna Baker’s soulful and powerful vocals and musician Gabriel Benn who play an incredible soundtrack throughout.
With UK garage hits, from Rosie Gaines’ closer than close and Kele Le Roc’s The Things We Do For Love, the soundtrack is an exciting addition to the story.
The story is wonderfully written and very funny in parts with references to the differences of 2001 and Nadia's personality as she embarks on her drug fuelled mission to raise university funds.
Despite the fact the play is only really Seroca Davis talking through a story for one hour with some occasional dancing, the way it is performed is captivating.
With a Little Bit of Luck is a unique theatre experience that you can rave to.
