Flame haired pop diva Jess Glynne wowed a sold-out crowd on her Take Me Home tour with her powerful, raw vocals and empowering lyrics.
Having first rose to prominence as a featured vocalist on Clean Bandit’s Grammy Award-winning single Rather Be, performed outstandingly tonight, the singer-songwriter became the second ever British female solo artist to have five number one singles in the UK, and it is easy to see why; her soaring voice paired with catchy melodies ensured the audience spent most of the night dancing and singing along.
Some of the lesser known tracks from debut album I Cry When I Laugh caused a dip in atmosphere but it quickly picked back up with upbeat hits including Don't Be So Hard On Yourself, Real Love and Right Here.
Ballad Take Me Home, a welcome change of pace, was soulful and vocally faultless. The rousing finale including Hold My Hand ensured every audience member left the arena with spring in their step and a smile on their face (and covered in pink confetti!) Despite her talent, Jess Glynne appeared unpretentious and humble, key to her appeal. After so much success with only one album, she is definitely one to watch.
