Edwardian Christmas At Home

Preston Manor, Preston Drove, Brighton, Saturday, December 12, 2pm, £14.50/£12.50, 03000 290902

ONE of Brighton’s real hidden treasures is the Edwardian stately home Preston Manor – which is usually closed between September and April.

Ahead of a brief Christmas opening between Saturday, December 19, and Wednesday, December 23, there’s a chance to see the house as it might have looked preparing for a celebration.

This tour goes both upstairs into where the Stanford family lived and dined, as well as down into the Victorian kitchens where visitors can enjoy a glass of sherry and a mince pie, getting an authentic Downton Abbey style experience.
