Scalextric World Championship
English Martyrs Church Hall, Goring Way, Goring, Saturday, December 19, 11am to 4pm, £1 per race or £5/£2 for the day, www.whoracing.org.uk/
TAKE a step back in time to a pre-digital age, when winning a race was about the pressure you put on a sprung trigger rather than dexterity with a controller.
Worthing HO Racing will be hosting a series of ten-lap races using their 1/64th slot race track.
During the day they will be looking for the fastest racer, who will be added to the World Championship table.
There will be prizes for the fastest time each hour, and to both the overall winner and under-16s champion of the day. The top time to beat from last year was 26.930 seconds by Ann Bird from East Preston – who was also the world runner-up.
There will also be more tracks set up on the day – including a digital track, GT racing and a Nascar team race.
