The Green Door Store, Brighton, Saturday, July 28

Now, I should prefix this by saying that this isn’t THE Mammothfest – that takes place in October. This show is the regional final for this year’s show, with the winner taking their place on the festival’s bill. Mammothfest has become a staple in the city, with metalheads from across the globe descending on Brighton for the three-day headbangathon. This year is sure to be bigger than any prior with four venues and more than 50 bands involved. If you don’t like it heavy you will want to stay far away from this show as some of the region’s finest metal talents battle it out to perform among the genre’s most elite names.

Tiffany

Concorde 2, Brighton, Wednesday, August 1

She shot to prominence in the late 1980s with the pop classic I Think We’re Alone Now and since then Tiffany has been a well-known name in the industry. More than just a one hit wonder, a series of cracking feelgood hits have meant she has remained consistently popular for some 30 years. Now, she brings that popularity to Concorde 2 as Brighton prepares itself for some classic nostalgia. You can guarantee that you and Tiffany will be alone with hundreds of other punters inside the club venue, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be an intimate affair. Swipe up any remaining tickets while you can.

Hailing from Prince Edward Island, the band are now making the journey across the pond to us in the UK, hitting Shoreham on the way. This is a rare chance to see a band that could be big in a few years. This classic French tale is being retold on the South Coast in what could be one of the best theatre shows of 2018. Get lost in the story of Margueritte St Juste, once known as the cleverest woman in Europe, who is torn between the three men in her life; her brother, her new husband Sir Percy Blakeney and the aristocrat hating Chauvelin. Entrance yourself with this masterpiece of a show.

Miss Hope Springs

Komedia, Brighton, Friday, August 3

A mix of comedy and music, Hope Springs has been regarded as one of the queens of the cabaret scene. Her shows consistently receive rave reviews and with a non-stop performance of songs, stories and show tunes it’s easy to see why. Throughout the show you’ll get to watch Hope play piano flawlessly, sing to her heart’s content and tell tales of the ups and downs of her rather hectic career. The intimacy of a venue such as the Komedia will let you get up close and personal with the lady herself and really get a glimpse of how fantastic a night of cabaret can be when performed well.
