HAVING demonstrated her DJ skills at Brighton’s Pryzm last month, former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt is set to give Brighton Pride-goers a glimpse of her future direction on the main stage.

Wyatt isn’t one of those celebrity DJs whose main function in the booth is to press play on a pre-recorded mix – she learned her skills at New York’s Scratch Academy.

Her Brighton Pride show will see her combine her new DJ skills with the dance moves which led to her becoming a judge on Sky TV’s Got To Dance.

“Knowing what that event stands for I can relate to it as I’ve faced adversity,” she says. “I feel Pride is about bursting through and allowing yourself to just be you, not giving into what society wants you to be.

“Being able to put on an event like this really makes a statement.”

Wyatt hopes to take her DJ tour even further – admitting her Pride appearance is just the beginning.

This main stage performance may see show off her most famous dance move.

“I do ask myself how I got known for putting my leg above my head,” she admits. “It’s what people connect with – I do feel there’s a time and a place for it, so if I feel it’s right for the stage show I will throw it in there.

“I could be doing this for the rest of my life – I don’t know if I want to be 50 and still throwing my legs over my head!”
