SPACE-surf-psych-folk-rockers Early Ghost headline Spectrum at Brighton Dome Studio Theatre tomorrow.

Below vocalist Mike O’Malley introduces the London and Brighton-based band.

“We actually all knew each other at school but met [drummer] Hugh Aynsley at college and formed a band then. Before that, the only story to tell is that me and [bassist, Sam] Watson once played a cover of The Trooper by Iron Maiden in music class. Everyone thought it was amazing, and they were right.

“We're influenced by different things from song to song. We liked making our music sound like a spaghetti western soundtrack for a while but I think we're finished with that for now.

“The biggest gig we have played to date was opening for Neutral Milk Hotel last year. It was the best day of my life. I think the others had fun too.

“We're just releasing our second single Devil’s Got Me Now on vinyl. We will be selling it online and at shows. There's some old stuff floating around on the internet but we didn't put much thought into it – they were sort of albums and EPs put together in a week kind of thing. We're just going to keep releasing singles for a while. It's a really fun way of recording.”
